Craig Cowan was top rod again this week, out on his float tube. He netted 24 on daddies in school bay. Pretty impressive as he even left early to go to the wedding of Ian Dobbie. All the best Ian. Last week it was Ian who was the top rod with 30. The week before it was Gary McGinley with 24. All good steady rods. Last cast with the Muckles had a great day at the dam on Saturday with big catches. The Loch is fishing very well at the moment. The East end of the Loch seems to be the best area. Dam, down past the heather hills to school bay is holding huge numbers of fish. The method is dries on a floating line or lures on a fast glass. Fly choice was not as important as finding the right depth for the area you are fishing in. Along the high bank it was a floating line on dries with a size 14 snatcher in the middle. PAAS are out on Saturday looking for the big girls. Will they get another 20lb plus? If you fancy trying to fish for pike, you should contact PAAS. They are a very well-run organisation. Lots of information, and exclusive rights to fish waters that other pike anglers can’t get access to. A great bunch of guys that will happily welcome new members and give you all the guidance that you may need. Remember that all the best waters have pike! THIS SUNDAY is the fundraiser for the Scottish youth team at the Loch. The event is being held in partnership with My fishing flies. This is a unique event. All the flies will be supplied and you can only use the flies you are given . Everyone gets the same flies. Please help support the team by taking part on the day. ( phone the Loch and get booked in ) Or buying raffle tickets, or handing in something to be raffled. I even raided the father-in-law cabinet. He doesn’t know it yet, but he is short of 8 bottles of wine now. All for a good cause. Airth bakers will also be supplying the buffet as normal. For years they have supplied the catering at cost to us, for events such as this. A huge thank you to them also. Scott Adams
