The weather has finally improved from previous weeks, with the temperature steadily rising to ensure a warm weekend. The wind was varying from the west at the start of the week to a constant wind from the east on Friday Saturday & Sunday. The temperature remained steady at around 15 degrees, until a big improvement in the temperature at the weekend. The water clarity remains excellent.

There were 49 boats in the water in the past week, with 94 rods out, 61 fish were kept weighing 207lb, 125 fish were safely returned.

Favourite fly patterns included buzzers, damsels, yellow owl, the Dry flies were also catching fish when the temperature increased on Friday & Saturday. Floating lines with midge tip were best, with some anglers fishing slightly deeper with intermediate lines due to brilliant sunshine on Saturday.

Regular anglers to the Loch all had good results.  the usual hot spots were the reedy bay, school bay and the south bank was popular with many anglers. With fish reportedly rising all over the Loch with the warmer weather. The following clubs fished the loch this week with good results, Clydesdale Bank Angling Club, Provincial Grand Lodge held their annual charity day at the Loch on Saturday, with all anglers enjoying the conditions, one angler had a lovely 8lb rainbow, the charity day raised over £800 for their chosen charity. We would like to thank Willie Reid and his members for their continued support and look forward to their return next year.

On Sunday the members from P.A.A.S enjoyed some great sport on the Loch, with many double figure catches, with one member catching a whopping 20 lb Pike, all fish were safely returned to the Loch, we look forward to working closely with Calum, Blair, and Bryan from P.A.A.S to have more of their members visit the Loch.

We are seeing an increase in bank fishers and would welcome more anglers to come along and enjoy the experience.
