The weather was overcast for much of the week, with a cool south/east & south west breeze. The water temperature by the end of the week was up to 8oC with water clarity excellent.
There was 29 boats in the water in the past week, with 42 rods, 13 fish were kept weighing 46lb and 203 fish were returned.
Favourite fly patterns included Cat’s whiskers, Ally McCoist, Diawl Bach, blobs, buzzers, Kate McLaren and black and green lures. Floating lines with midge tip and Di3 lines were producing best results.
Monday 11th – Bobby Patterson and Albert Innes returned 13 fish between them.
Wednesday 13th – Anglers had a good day, 35 fish returned from 4 boats which included 2 lovely rainbows at 5lb and 7lb.
Friday 15th – Again the anglers out on the water had a cracking days fishing, 46 fish were returned from 3 boats, with Alan Steven and Andrew McAdam returning a whopping 29 fish between them.
Saturday 16th – Anglers out on Saturday included Rainbow Angling Club with 4 anglers kept 13 fish (34lb) and returned 15 fish which included a cracking 6lb rainbow. ABCD angling club with 10 anglers returned 34 fish for 108lb. Andy Durk returned 9 fish for 28lb.
Sunday 17th – Edinburgh post office Angling club were out on Sunday with 10 anglers returning 45 fish (144lb) which included a stunning 6lb rainbow. Shaun McCormick returned 3 fish.
Next stocking due to take place on Thursday 21st April with approx. 380lb of fish lined up.
