The weather is all over the place. East winds one day. West the next. South winds another. This unsettled weather has an impact on the trout. The best day was Sunday. Anglers were much more consistent with catch returns. On Saturday the fish were showing everywhere. But it frustrated the anglers, as they seemed to be preoccupied on one single thing. Anglers that did do well were catching on the not to traditional flies. Yellow dancers on a fast glass line worked great. Anglers that were on the buzzers and diawl bach’s also caught fish. But the yellow dancer was by far the most consistent fly. The hot spot was the two reedy bays, especially the point between the two where it drops down a shelf. That was the place to be. A single cat booby on a fast glass line took a lot of fish. Lots of blues in the catch return last week. As well as a 16lb lovely pike. Also caught on a yellow dancer. The picture looked like you could fit your fist in its mouth. With the constant uncertainty about Covid and restrictions, we have made the decision not to do season tickets for this year. We hoped to start them at the beginning of June. Hoping we would all be in a better position with this virus, but we are where we are. No one knows if further restrictions will be put in place. So, it would unfair to charge for a season ticket not knowing if we could honour it for the rest of the year. The good news, is that the previous year’s season ticket holders, and the ones we have on a list wanting to join, will get a special deal next year when we start them. Also, the table and chairs in the building, free tea and coffee are still postponed for now. We all have a responsibility to protect ourselves and others from this virus. Scott Adams
