It is a floating line with two yellow owls spaced fourteen feet apart that is doing well at the moment. Drifting along the high banks was the best place to be. Fish are still rising in that area. Keep moving on the drift and fan cast your flies as you drift. If no take within 15 seconds, lift off and cast again. Remember to keep the cast short. No full line casts. You will hit fish with this method. Anglers sticking to that method are catching in the twenties. Even if no fish are showing, they will rise to the yellow owl presented well. With the colder days and stronger winds, it is tempting to go on to sinking lines. That method is still catching fish. But the dries are working far better. The big trout are hitting the fry now. You can see the commotion around the jetty area when the trout hammer the fry. It is a great sight to see. Can you catch one of the fry bashers? As the end of the main season is coming near, the Loch gets much quieter now. You can even get a boat most weekends now. Scott Adams
